Community Safety Event


Community Safety Event: 11th - 12th September 2009 
 


Strathclyde Fire & Rescue are hosting a Community Safety Exhibition as part of the ‘Rescue on the Clyde’ event where visitors can interact with partner agencies to develop knowledge and awareness and receive advice and support. Exhibiting agencies will include Strathclyde Fire & Rescue, Institute of Advance Motorists, Fire Prevention Association, Association of Scottish Neighbourhood Watches, National Trust For Scotland, Esporta, Scotwest Credit Union and Energy Saving Trust.

The event is free of charge to members of the public on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th of September 2009, from 10am until 5pm, at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, Glasgow.


The event will include themes such as home safety, personal safety, money management, health promotion and road safety with a central focus on community fire safety.  Community fire safety activities at the event will include:

* Fire prevention theatre education plays
* Vintage Fire Appliances
* Fire fighter uniforms from throughout the times display
* Interactive Safe/hazard house and competition
* Active Learning Fire Appliance with interactive driving demonstration
* Community Safety Advocates
* Opportunity to find out more about Home Fire Safety Visits
* Education and advice on community fire safety.
