Rope Rescue Challenge 2010.
Rope Rescue Challenge – October 1 and October 2Location: Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service HQ, Eastleigh
Utilising the main drill tower for scenario based challenges and a
purpose built training rig for the technical skills tests, the event
will run over two days with the heats on the first day and the morning
of the second and the finals being on the afternoon of the second day.
It is anticipated that up to 16 teams will take part.
The rope rescue challenge brings together teams of rope rescue
personnel who are committed to expanding their practical skills by
learning from, and teaching, others involved in the same discipline.
The scenario based challenges will simulate the type of incidents
that rope rescue teams may encounter and will be based on a team of five
for the heats and six for the final.
Teams will not know what scenario they will have until they are
briefed immediately prior to the challenge.
Marks will be allocated in the areas of Command, Technical and
Medical expertise with the winning team being supported to attend an international event, such as the Grimp Day challenge.
