CFOA supports National Trauma Conference
THE 3RD NATIONAL FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE TRAUMA CONFERENCE
As operational fire crews are increasingly first on scene at incidents that involve trauma, the UK’s Fire and Rescue Service continue to make a significant impact on the outcome of an injured patient by their actions in the first few minutes on scene.
At last year’s 2nd National Fire and Rescue Service Trauma Conference, West Midlands Fire Service again played host to around 240 delegates from far and wide. Over 40 Fire Brigades were represented at the event and although the delegates were mainly Fire-fighters, West Midlands Fire Service was delighted to welcome many other agencies involved in pre-hospital care to the conference.
Following the success of last year’s National Trauma Conference West Midlands Fire Service is again proud to host the 3rd National Fire and Rescue Service Trauma Conference on 16-17 October 2009. The 2 day conference will again be held at the Brigade Training Centre in Smethwick
As in previous years, this year’s conference has again attracted many eminent speakers from the world of Pre-Hospital Care. Over the 2 days we aim to offer a selection of top class presentations and a number of interactive workshops to enable delegates to learn and practice new skills. It will again provide an excellent opportunity for delegates to meet friends, (old and new) and swap ideas.
The conference is supported by CFOA; The Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, Faculty of Pre Hospital Care; The Academic Department of Traumatology, University Hospital Birmingham; and The Fire Times.
By hosting the event we hope to offer another update of trauma care to the UK's Fire and Rescue Service and the conference is poised to be another great success.
