UKRO Rescue on the Clyde Challenge Results

A glorious week of weather, and a beautiful urban scape, added to the UKRO Rescue on the Clyde 2009 challenge to make it one of the best challenges to date.

With teams participating from nearly all of the UK's fire and rescue services, again the standard in all events was raised with both great innovations and new technical considerations being shown.

The event brings out the best of what the fire service is, and has proved yet again with the technical workshops and hybrid vehicle inputs that even though we are the best in the world at what we do, we must not stand still with our learning. It is this professional attitude that allows us as firefighters to perform and serve to the highest standards for the public that we serve in their time of need.

A huge congratulations to all teams that competed, a full write up will be available in the challenge section. In the interim here are the placings from the main events.

Rope Rescue:
 Best Medic - Hampshire Fire and Rescue
   Best Team Leader - Hampshire Fire and Rescue
   Best Technical - Hampshire Fire and Rescue
   3rd Place - South Wales Fire and Rescue
   2nd Place - Merseyside Fire and Rescue
   1st Place - Hampshire Fire and Rescue
   
 Extrication:  Best Medic - Northumberland Fire and Rescue
   Best Team Leader - South Wales Fire and Rescue
   Best Technical - South Wales Fire and Rescue
   3rd Place - London Fire Brigade - A
   2nd Place - South Wales Fire and Rescue
   1st Place - Northumberland Fire and Rescue
   
 Trauma:  3rd Place - Staffordshire - Lichfield
   2nd Place - Derbyshire - West Area
   1st Place - West Yorkshire - A
   
 USAR:  Best Medic - Strathclyde Fire and Rescue
   Best Technical - Strathclyde Fire and Rescue
   Best Incident Commander - Strathclyde Fire and Rescue
   3rd Place - Leicestershire Fire and Rescue
   2nd Place - Merseyside Fire and Rescue
   1st Place - Strathclyde Fire and Rescue
